Played it for a bit tonight. Came to some simple conclusions.

1. The Rush game type is extremely one sided. For those of you who have played Bad Company 1, Rush follows the same premise as Gold Rush, only instead of gold you destroy M-COM stations. ;]S.S.D.D. Teams are not randomized between rounds so if you get a good team against you, youre pretty much fraked. The game type is a good idea, but it needs work, randomize the teams between rounds and it would be fine. This brings me to another point.

2. The UAV. Bad Company had player controlled artillery (as opposed to the commander controlled artillery from Battlefield 2 and 2142), this game has the UAV. A small helicopter drone capable of not only razing a target with a very nice machine gun, but lazing at target and letting what I assume is a Predator drone rain a missile down. The missile goes to where the laser is pointed, so you have control over where it lands after firing. This is a problem, because, if a player is so inclined, he can sit high up and rain down missiles upon everyone and go unopposed. Granted the missiles take forever to reload, but they are fairly powerful and you could destroy the M-COMs with no problem. It needs to go.

3. Vehicles. I tried the tank, and its better than the first... didn't get a chance to pilot a chopper, so I dunno. Though I will say, giving the attackers many tanks and the defenders 1 Apache, and then later a single Black Hawk is just a tad unfair.

4. Kill cams. FFS, does every game have to have a kill cam? This one isn't as bad as Modern Warfare 2's(where you can see through your killers eyes), but its bad enough. I liked the challenged of trying to find the sniper that just picked me off. And I don't need to see the guy who just knifed me teabag my corpse in 3rd person. I don't need or want it. And another thing... if I'm killed I don't want to spend a second in first person as my body falls over, dead... just put me at the kit screen and be done with it. Oh, and more importantly, I don't want people being able to see me after I've killed them. I have my hidey holes for a reason, I want to stay hidden

5. Kits. Played Sniper. Found I'm still fairly good at it in this game. The M24 handles nicely, though I wish the bolt could be worked while looking down the scope, I'm sure real snipers are able to, why cant I? Bullets drop, and require significant lead time if the target is moving. They also leave trace, and I've used that a few times to locate and counter-snipe others. Didn't mess with the other classes yet. Will tomorrow.

6. Unlocks. Standard fair, demo allows for a 1 tier unlock for each class, and a few shot guns for all classes. Also gadgets and specializations.

7. The Frostbite Engine. Sucks. I'm not a fan of destructible terrain. I like the wall I'm hiding behind to stay intact under tremendous amounts of explosive firepower. And someone explain how stabbing a door or chain link fence with a combat knife will destroy it... The engine is good. Good graphics, solid controls, but the destructible stuff need to go. It just does.

8. EA's servers. For a demo, they are flawless. No lag or anything. Though there still are jerks.... but that cant be helped. I applaud EA for getting something working right.... maybe theres hope for them yet.... ok, probably not.

9. WHY THE DUCK CAN I NOT GO DUCKING PRONE??????

Will I buy the game. Frak no. It plays well, but the engine is a huge turn off for me.

I always play as a sniper, nothing else, and don't like it that people can blow out the walls of buildings and find me and take away my favorite hiding spot.

After getting my ass handed to me in Halo 3 by Richard's sniping abilities, I have to agree with that statement.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I *love* destructible buildings and terrain. Games like Modern Warfare just don't do it for me because in combat things get blown up, they're not just static objects that can take barrage after barrage of artillery. This building is a shabby wooden house, not The Greenbriar!

Agreed, I like stuff crumbling around me when I'm under heavy fire. Especially when its a tiny little wood fence.

Destructible buildings and terrain should be in every game now days.

I would too, that's the only thing that irritates me about Battlefield 2 is the lack of realistically using cover. Though I admit, I love it when people hide behind a thin sheet metal wall and I shoot through it with my PKM and give them a rude wake up call!

There is something to that effect in my points, though, its under the kill cam point, and not the destructible buildings point. Snipers are not SUPPOSED to be found... and I've already found quite a few spots in the one map that is in the demo, and they would be perfect... except the buildings they are in can be destroyed. And I do use the other classes. I have not in this demo, but I do use them in other games, and I did in BC1.... Also, you're just jealous that I'm a better sniper than you.

Sniping in Bad Company is different than Halo. I'm not gonna say it doesn't take skill in Halo, but in Bad Company it takes more, and the rifles handle just like real ones, except for the fact the the coriolis effect and windage does not apply. I'm not nearly as a good a sniper in BC than I am in Halo.

I'm just going to say it now: All of you are fail for liking destructible buildings. The terrain I can get, but not buildings. It is a game, and it should be fun. And buildings falling down around me is not fun.

A couples of additions to my points.

On the UAV, from what I saw, it did not have a limited range. Either that or the attackers get a new one each time they move up. I much rathered the limited range of the artillery in the first game.

The Engine. I'll give Dice credit, they didn't half ass the destructible part of it. Buildings can be completely destroyed, as opposed to just exterior walls and roofs. Tak out the supporting walls and the roof falls to the ground.

So by that logic, I should be able to hide behind the porta-johns and not get hurt at all when a tank unleashes all kinds of hell on me? You, sir, are a fraking idiot.

I find realistic games fun, if I just wanted to have fun and never lose, I'd play Tetris.

Loss and failure are part of games, without them, it gets real boring, real fast. Don't get me wrong, getting blown up every 30 seconds isn't exactly fun, but still.

Edit: Spelling error

No. I think the tank should be able to crush the porta-john and then you, because all porta-johns are are plastic and some rivets. I don't think BUILDINGS (you know, those things made out of concrete and steel) should be destructible. Fences, yes... though not from a combat knife.... buildings built from wood, possibly. Terrain, sure, most times that will just provide more cover for a resourceful player to use. But buildings, no. I think buildings should be static and non-destructable.

With destructible buildings, getting blown up every 30 seconds is what you get. Because you start spawning in the open, and are easy targets for UAV missiles and tank shells, not to mentions RPGs and snipers.

Played again for a bit today, as both Assault and Engineer. Put in more time with the UAV and picked up a Black Hawk for a bit.

Assault is just like the other game, rifle, M203 or equivalent. Handles the same, good mid range, ok close range, horrible long range. Nothing special.

Engineer is only slightly different than BC1. I can't rmember if the other game allowed Engineers to unlock newer launchers, but this one does. So, you start with the classic RPG-7. Has a relatively parabolic trajectory. Manages to clip an Apache's rotors and took it down, so that was nice, its easier to aim it in this game than it was in BC1, of course, I forget what launcher we had in BC1.

UAV. Unlimited range, unlimited fuel, almost no health. But you dont even need to get close, if you keep using the missiles. Got 2 stand alone kills, and plenty of assists, and killed 1 M3A3 Bradley IFV and 1 T-90 MBT. The UAV is the equivalent of the Predator Missile from MW2 or the JDAM from BC1, just handled differently, and slightly weaker. 2 missiles for the M3A3 and 3 for the T-90 MBT.

Choppers. Flew the UH-60 Black Hawk. I still don't like the controls, ;]RB, and the ;]RT goes down. The right analog stick controls roll and yaw, left controls pitch, and I don't know what the left triggers and bumpers do.

Drove a M3A3 Bradley IFV too, same as the other tanks, as far as controls go, but its obviously weaker. Fires 6 shots before reloading the main cannon.

Why are you even playing it? Gods know you're never going to buy it... Go play Dragon Age for awhile.

You know what Bryan. I don't put up with it when Jay makes fun of me, and I'm sure as hell not gonna put up with it when you do. So watch it. Because you're a good guy, but you can be a jerk sometimes.

I barely tolerate it when Jason goes "Because he's Richard..." and then adds something after it. Dont become Jason... because heaven forbid we have two of him running around this place. You don't like my review of the gorroam demo, GTFO of my topic then, and dont let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

I'm doing this purely because I want to, and I think people should know what it's like before deciding whether to download the 1+ gig fie onto their 360's, because not all 360 owner have a 120GB HDD like me, so space is premium, or they many not have the bandwidth. I don't like the demo, I don't like the game. I'm telling you why, so you can make a semi-informed choice as to whether or not to download it. I'm trying to be as fair as possible, outside of my opinions of the engine and its dynamics.

You REALLY need to lighten up man. This whole "omg, someone said something bad about me! WAH!" act really does get old. Loosen up, take a joke in stride and get on with it.

I don't take jokes made against me, not from you, not from Jason, not even from my friends here in Vegas. The only difference between you and Jason and them, is they respect that fact. And if they don't, they atleast have the respect to do it while I'm not around.

Right now, this is my topic. And don't speak to me like that. Just don't. I'll get back on topic when I want to. And I'd like to note, that its you who got us off topic.

EDIT: And don't got giving me the "I'm a Mod, listen to me." BS. Because quite frankly, I have absolutely no respect for you in that position, and if you want it, you are going to have to earn it. And you, as of yet, have not.
